Though they The Safe Mac said if they're located on the Desktop, Downloads, Documents it should be safe to delete. I did more research & found that some adware may or may not be as simple as removing them. I found a nice chunk of adware on there too, these are really my 1st times officially checking for these as I always assumed Macs were safe for the most part. I had some curiousity though & ran ClamXAV on my Hard Drive. Is this primarily command line initiated, or does it. I think the issue is it not detecting, either down to the definitions not being any good or up to date quick enough. My Macbook is a 2011 version, so I assumed that it's because of use & filling up alot of storage space that has made my mac heat up with a few tabs of Google Chrome open as well. I'm not sure the problem is down to scanning functionality, as CLAMAV will detect the Eicar test, this leads me to believe that it's scanning. My 1st question is does that actually remove the adware? My laptop did cool down significantly afterwards.

I ran ClamXAV & I was sort of right, it was adware & I removed it through ClamXAV's "Delete File" button. I bought the Temperature Gauge app & downloaded ClamXAV after some research online as I suspected that it may be malware.
